My husband and I love to play the “what if we won the lottery” game. It’s one of our favorite pastimes. The game usually begins after we pass the Mega Millions billboard on our way out of town. After a beat of silent, shared longing one of us will say “You know what I would do if we won the lottery?” and the game begins.
The number one thing we talk about is where we would GO! We want to build sandcastles with the kids on a tropical beach. We want to hike miles to reach the top and stare bug-eyed at breathtaking vistas. We want to explore the history and art of ancient civilizations and eat pounds of amazing food from different cultures. This blog will serve as our fantasy vacation planner. You know, just in case!
OK, so there is a slim chance we might never win the Mega Millions jackpot. That’s ok, but it’s fun to dream about the possibility. Plus, financial stability is a dream we can actually achieve. When we attain that dream, we can sift through my travel plans and decide where we want to go first. With our eventual financial stability in mind, I will plan a fantasy version and a budget version of each vacation.
